Sweet Shoppe Birthday Party
Sam and I had so much fun planning Caroline's Sweet Shoppe birthday party! It was a lot of fun to create! We created and made everything printable which included the invitations, favor tags, birthday banner, door sign, and food and candy jar tags. We made all the food except the lollipop cookies and the chicken nuggets! This theme involved much more than we initially planned but in the end it all came together beautifully! There were a few minor glitches (my new dress that I bought to wear, for her party, had a mishap, I forgot the table runners for both the sweet shoppe table and food table, the large pink lollipop wasn't cooperating; the wind was winning, the balloons were tied on both sides of the drink bins instead of just one on each side, the cake pops began to crack, the sign on the sweet shoppe table was reprinted but I used the wrong one initially, and I forgot to tie ribbons on the candy scoops, but what's a party without a glitch or two, ha). This post is about Caroline's Sweet Shoppe decorations! Like all of C's parties, the sweet shoppe was a joy!

Guess, I just can't get enough of Caroline's Sweet Shoppe!
I tried incorporating fun food with the sweet food!
Cake pops! I have to admit, the first time I made them, FAIL! The second time, SUCCESS! Here's a few tips: after rolling cake pops into balls, freeze for 24 hours. After dipping the sticks in chocolate, freeze again for 30 minutes (you do not want the cake pop to come off the stick when dipping). Melt chocolate in a deep glass something using your microwave's half power. I used a miniature triffle bowl. I think the glass helped the chocolate to stay hot (my choclate never got hard before each dipping session was over). Mix a tiny bit of vegetable oil with the chocolate to thin it out before dipping, stir well. If using sprinkles, have someone else do the sprinkling after the pop has been dipped in chocolate!
