"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Caroline was nine weeks old on Sunday! It's hard to imagine how much she's already doing in nine weeks! She loves to giggle, coo, laugh, and especially squeal in delight. She can turn to one side if she's lying on her back- usually she goes to the left. She's staying awake more during the day but lately she's been going through a growth spurt so she's been so sleepy. Yesterday I could hardly keep her awake to nurse. She's getting too big too fast. This morning I woke up and she was sleeping with her hands behind her head. She's still trying to get her thumb in her mouth by way of sticking her whole fist in her mouth. She's just a delight!!

On Friday, she had her two month check up. She weighs 12 pounds. Sam and I predicted 11.10 and 11.13 because she was 11.2 Thursday a week ago so we were surprised that she weighed 12 pounds- I asked Dr. Thomas if she was over weight and she said no that she was perfect. She's in the 75th percentile for weight, 50th percentile for height- she's 22 1/2 inches long, and in the 10th percentile for her head circumference- Dr. Thomas said her head was growing appropriately but that she's going to have a little head. Of course I had gobs of questions for her like: how to clean her ears- only use a q-tip and get what you see on the outside; It's summer- can we take her to the beach and what about sunscreen- you can go to the beach but make sure she's covered and in shade because you can't use sunscreen until she's 6 months- babies under six months have thin skin and its not ready for sunscreen or bugspray; does she still need to sleep swaddled- yes until she's 3.5 months- what do we do then- get a sleep sack (we were able to find a sleeveless polka dotted sleep sack at Target); How often should she now be feed- still every three hours; she's wanting to sleep 5 to 6 hours at night should this continue- she's needs to fed no longer than four hours at night (oops- I'd been letting her sleep!!- we're back to feeding every four hours at night and every three during the day); sometimes she sounds congested at times when she sleeps- her nasal passages are very tiny right now; what happens when she starts to roll over on her belly- trust that the good Lord will take care of her at night when she sleeps or you can set your alarm clock every hour and go turn her back over- so these were just some of the questions we asked during this visit.

Caroline also got her 2 month shots also and though she screamed she stopped as soon they were over and hasn't had any problems with them so far. After coming home and reading the paper work about the shots and the common problems they could cause we watched Caroline very carefully for any signs of reactions and gave her lots of TLC!

Here's some pictures of our big girl!

I'm getting good at tummy time!

Well maybe its just a little hard for me still!

As soon as I changed her clothes after church on
Sunday, she was sound asleep.

I wanted to wake her up because she'd been alseep
all during church.

She was laughing for about a second!

And then went right back to sleep!

Pops came up to see me on Saturday. Daddy
cooked out and we invited him since Grand
was out of town!

I'm getting so big!

This is Matalyn Martin with her sun shades on!
We went to eat at McAlister's on Friday and we ran
into the Martins! Aren't these glasses a hoot!

So fun! Looks like Caroline is growing fast too. Funny how doctors are different. Our doctor told us to just let her sleep until she woke up hungry at night which I have no problem doing! My little priss however still feeds every 3-4 hours at night. She is hungry all the time! I would give anything to sleep 5 hours straight right about now especially since I'm back at school! Tell Lynn she needs to start a blog! I want to see more pictures.
